WHMIS is a short form for Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System. It is a comprehensive plan for providing information on the safe use of hazardous materials used in Canadian workplaces. Information is provided by means of product labels, material safety data sheets (MSDS) and worker education programs.

The WHMIS label is one of the ways used to convey hazard information to users of the product. WHMIS law requires labels for hazardous products.

Canada has aligned the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS)

Standardized pictograms, which immediately show the user of a hazardous product what type of hazard is present, will be on the supplier labels and safety data sheets (as the symbol or name of the symbol).

Here is the translation of your comment in English:

” The fact that my employer respects my safety helps me maintain a positive mental balance.”

We agree! And we hope that all employers educate themselves about safety issues, and respect your right to safety.
The right to safety means to be protected against products, production processes and services that are hazardous to health or life.
